NO Cilantro?!

She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. - Proverbs 31:14

We have a grocery store chain in my neck of the woods called Publix.

I love Publix.

Why?

Two words:

Customer Service.

Earlier tonight, I was scrambling to get the ingredients for a quick dinner I was making before hubbie got up from his nap to go do his weekly bowling with the guys. I got all my ingredients for the yummy family favorite chicken fajitas I was making…except the cilantro.

Ran back to the produce to grab the forgotten…but oh so necessary ingredient to find NONE! :(

Ack!

What was I going to do???

Think Quick!

Great! The produce manager just so happened to be IN the produce department working! I am certain he heard the desperation in my voice when I asked if there was any cilantro in the back…he already knew he was about to disappoint me. He must have felt compassion for the frazzled Mother standing before him, whose mind had gone completely blank as to what she would make her family instead, and time was running out!

He told me to wait a minute, he’d be right back.

He comes back out with two cilantro herb plants…

Hmmmm…

He tells me they are all he has.

I look at the not so very abundantly endowed cilantro plants and sigh…

“How much are they?”

“Two for $4.”

Me–> !!!!!! + {Shocked look on my face}

“I don’t want to spend $4 on cilantro…especially when there is less than half of what I normally get for half that price”

{sad face}

He says, “take them both for price of one.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I am the produce manager, I can do that.” He winks.

I told him thank you and he had no idea how much he saved me from mental overload. LOL.

Not only did this man go out of his way to help me, he accommodated me and my cheapness! ROFL!
