Boundless Love

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39

What an AWESOME bit of knowledge. While we may choose to walk away from Daddy…NOTHING will ever make Him walk away from us. Nothing can separate us from the love of God. He loves us with a profound love…a love that no human could ever comprehend with natural thinking. God’s love for us is boundless and without end!

I love the part that says…not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love

Woot! Hear that devil??? You have NO power to stop my Daddy God from loving and caring for me!

When in doubt…

But I did something really bad…

NOTHING can separate you from God’s love!

But I keep making the same mistakes…I just know He will give up on me…eventually….

NOTHING can separate you from God’s love!

I am not worthy…

NOTHING can separate you from God’s love!

But…

Er…but NOTHING!

NOTHING can separate you from God’s love!

Daddy LOVES you! You are the apple of His eye! He loves you so intimately that He knows the NUMBER OF HAIRS on your head!!! Grab hold of this knowledge and you may just find that victorious living is not so far out of reach!

He hears the prayer of the righteous

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. - Proverbs 15:29

Amazing! The Creator of all things takes the time to HEAR me! He wants to hear me! I am His righteous daughter though the Blood of Jesus! Our Daddy loves His children. He loves us so much that He sent His Only Son to die so that we can be made righteous. So that we can boldly come before His throne. He desires for us to communicate with Him through praise and prayers. We should aim to be in constant contact with Him throughout our day. It is the only way to have victory in our lives.

No time? Sure you do…

Time for Prayer

driving the kids to school
driving to and from work
while driving anywhere
while in the shower
while putting on makeup
when picking out fruit
before bed
before you get out of bed
while cooking
while cleaning
basically ANY time throughout your day!

Prayer gives us the strength to go on. It allows us the ability to communicate with the One Who loves us so very much. Prayer brings you closer to the Lord, and it allows Him the opportunity to speak to our hearts in the areas that we need His guidance. Think about it this way: Could you really have a close friendship with someone you never talked to?? No, of course not. We need to communicate with friends, and get together to cultivate a strong and lasting friendship. It is the same with our relationship with Daddy God! We need to spend time with Him. We need to make time FOR Him! I want to encourage you to pray…and pray more often!

Better is little…

We need to be very careful not to fall into the “keeping up with the Jones’s” trap. I mean excess is everywhere. You cannot watch television, read a magazine, or even drive down the road without some sort of ad telling you to buy! Telling you that you can find happiness if you just buy…

Better is little with the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord than great and rich treasure and trouble with it. – Proverbs 15:16

Unfortunately, many of us have or will fall victim to this on some level. Even worse is the pressure, stress, and lack of real fulfillment that comes with it. We need to focus on our relationship with Daddy God above ALL else. We need to forget about “stuff” and shopping, and need to give more.

If we would just take the focus off of what we do not have and shine the light on all that we do have, we would be more content than we could have ever imagined!

We are blessed.

We are chosen of God.

We are daughters of the Most High.

Let us allow our inner lights to shine so brightly that we outshine any diamond on earth! There is the TRUE treasure lies!

NO Cilantro?!

She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. - Proverbs 31:14

We have a grocery store chain in my neck of the woods called Publix.

I love Publix.

Why?

Two words:

Customer Service.

Earlier tonight, I was scrambling to get the ingredients for a quick dinner I was making before hubbie got up from his nap to go do his weekly bowling with the guys. I got all my ingredients for the yummy family favorite chicken fajitas I was making…except the cilantro.

Ran back to the produce to grab the forgotten…but oh so necessary ingredient to find NONE! :(

Ack!

What was I going to do???

Think Quick!

Great! The produce manager just so happened to be IN the produce department working! I am certain he heard the desperation in my voice when I asked if there was any cilantro in the back…he already knew he was about to disappoint me. He must have felt compassion for the frazzled Mother standing before him, whose mind had gone completely blank as to what she would make her family instead, and time was running out!

He told me to wait a minute, he’d be right back.

*Jeopardy Music*

He comes back out with two cilantro herb plants…

Hmmmm…

He tells me they are all he has.

I look at the not so very abundantly endowed cilantro plants and sigh…

“How much are they?”

“Two for $4.”

Me–> !!!!!! + {Shocked look on my face}

“I don’t want to spend $4 on cilantro…especially when there is less than half of what I normally get for half that price”

{sad face}

He says, “take them both for price of one.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I am the produce manager, I can do that.” He winks.

I told him thank you and he had no idea how much he saved me from mental overload. LOL.

Not only did this man go out of his way to help me, he accommodated me and my cheapness! ROFL!

She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. - Proverbs 31:16

Over-Did It…

Be patient, then, brothers, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near. – James 5:7-8

I have been working out for over a week now and yesterday I decided to do the extra long run. Big mistake. LOL! Now my calves are killing me! I had the weekend off, so I *should* have done the one long run yesterday, then two of them today and THEN the Island Lap (extra long run) tomorrow. I wound up unable to do any exercise today! AH!

It stinks when you get impatient…Makes me realize patience matters even in the little things…How am I so sure. The calves don’t lie baby! LOL!

I may have to lighten up…BUT…will NOT give up!!! :D

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9

A Wife of Noble Character??

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. - Proverbs 31:10

On a typical day my beloved husband can some home and find me with my hair pulled up tightly in a bun…possibly yelling for quiet. He may find me crying because I feel like a failure or even in a mood. And, yes, he finds me pretty and sane at times too…LOL. However, does he ever come home to a woman of noble character and does he find me worth more than fine rubies???

I hope so!

What does this mean?

Well, first, I think this is the definition of the entire Proverbs 31 woman. To simply this one verse, however… She is a woman who does not attack her husband with her own needs, wants hurts and crud the moment he walks through the door. She greets him and does her best to make HIM feel special, loved, accepted and appreciated. She is a woman who has character. She appreciates all that God gives her and puts her Daddy God first.

Am I this woman?

Honestly?

Most days, sadly, no… :( I am usually stressed out, over tired and annoyed. Not that I am a total shrew all the time. However, when I look at me and try to be as honest as I can about me, I see someone who needs an attitude adjustment, more one on one time with the Lord and to stop allowing life to change my moods!

So, my prayer is simple…

Daddy God, please help me to shine like the jewel I know you created me to be. Help me appreciate more, love more and see the negatives less. Help me to be a wife…woman…mother of noble character who will one day hear her children rise up and call me blessed! Thank you for your help, love and mercy! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

How about you? What is your self evaluation? Do you need improvement? Ask God to help you! Be willing to MAKE the CHANGES…and guess what? You CAN! I CAN..WE CAN!

O’ Dark-Thirty Has it’s Perks…

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. - Proverbs 31:30

Our inner beauty is what is the most attractive quality in a woman. We can turn hearts when we have the love of Christ pouring out from the depths of our souls. Making God the priority in our life and falling in love with Him above all else is what will bring the kind of “Non-fleeting” beauty that the Proverbs 31 woman has. This kind of woman is praiseworthy!

Does that mean we ignore our outer appearance? Of course not! And that is what brings me to this post…

I have been in an on again off again battle with losing the final pounds protruding from my thighs and buttock region. I have the right method, it is a matter of getting back ON the wagon and REMAINING there! LOL! Well, I now have MAJOR motivation…

A few weeks ago, I put out feelers to find a sponsor to an upcoming conference in Nashville, Tenn. called Blissdom. I prayed about it. Left my desire with God. In less than a day, I got a reply of “YES, I will sponsor you!” I was ecstatic to say the least and thus began my need to remove the unwanted poundage…

You see, pictures upon pictures upon pictures are taken at these types of events and there is NO way on God’s green earth I am going to be “the fat lady” in the picture! ROFL! Nope. Not this girl!

So, Monday began my quest to be at least 30 pounds lighter by mid January.

O’ Dark-Thirty is an expression my good friend Nancy uses when referring to getting up at the crack of dawn…I think it is hilarious and stole if for this post!

How can there possibly be perks to getting up before the birds, sun and sane people??

  1. It is ever so quiet. No constant questions and “don’t touch mes” filling the air. Just me and the dark house.
  2. I am able to work out on my Wii Fit without feeling self conscience.
  3. I feel better for the day.
  4. I have already lost 2.5 pounds and LOVE the way I get ONLY encouragement from my Wii People! LOL!

Yes, it is only a few perks…however, those skinny jeans are calling my name and no pillow is going to hold me back!

Thanks for reading!

In Him,

LV

First Post

Hello! :)

I am very excited to start this blog. I have been praying and thinking about it for some time. You see, I am already the owner of a prominent Christian Mom site. However, this place will be different. Moms of Faith is a site for all Christian Moms from many places in life. It is written by several very wonderful women…not just me. Proverbs 31 Mom will be about my PERSONAL journey as a Christian wife, mother and business woman. It will be from only my perspective. Not that I do not pour my heart into, and share my life on MOF…LOL…this is just different. I will be even more open and share from several areas of my life from a Proverbs 31 perspective.

You see, I am on a journey to becoming all that God wants me to be and I believe that my starting point is digging deep into the Proverbs 31 woman. I will share all areas related to this woman…er…MOM! Including; noble wife, homemaker, influence, teaching (Titus 2), Motherhood, excellence, business, wisdom, devotionals, money, training up my children and more.

So, there you go! I look forward to where this brings me in my walk and how it helps all those who read! I hope that you are encouraged by my journey and all the failures and victories I will no doubt encounter and share with you!

In Him,
